About
This site was developed as a result of the work done through the Sustainable Places Project (SPP). The SPP worked with communities throughout the Austin-Round Rock MSA that, while seeing economic success, have faced decreases in housing affordability, increases in traffic congestion, and other alarming trends. Community workshops were held in Hutto, Elgin, Lockhart, and Dripping Springs to explore various scenarios of the future using Envision Tomorrow. Through that exploration, and alongside extensive research and planning, a suite of tools was developed called the ET Planning Suite.

The suite uses three software platforms (ArcMap, Excel, and CityEngine) to aid in the planning, measuring, and visualizing of future and current land use plans.  The tutorials are arranged in levels of difficulty and complexity as Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced sections.

This site is intended to help planners, consultants, students, and those interested in planning technologies to understand the Sustainable Communities Scenario Suite.
